Ross in addition to creating all original artworks has designed and built this web site. In so doing he made the decision to avoid the use of "frames" to keep his site available to all web users ( or as many as possible ) which includes those with older Browsers. This did not always make his task easier.

Please feel free to explore the world through his eyes and brush. He is already working on the second generation of his site and would value any views or assistance you may have. He particularly wants to produce more tutorial pages for publication later in the year.

Ross is, or has been a member of the following societies :

Bolton Art Circle, Lytham and St. Annes Art Societies, Dundee Artist and Broughty Ferry Art Society, and the Society for all Artists ( S.A.A.).

A product of the 50's Ross was born and raised in Bolton , Lancashire, England. He worked for many years in the Finance Industry, but throughout maintained a prodigious output of Watercolour , Oil, and Pencil drawings to commission, and even found time to do some advertising work . Having taken early retirement he is now pursuing a full time fine art career with the assistance of his wife Liz.

His first love is the spontaneity of Watercolour, as against the measured control of Oil. In the later the artist is free to "scrape off" as many times as it takes to get right ( in some hands more a test of persistence than skill). This, of course, in no way denigrates Oil as a medium which, in the hands of the skilled artist can "express itself " with great power and immediacy.

His artworks are represented in collections in England, Scotland, Canada, USA, Australia, and New Zealand.

In recent years Ross has found that the demand for his pencil portraits has grown, along with the general publics appreciation of their unforced qualities . Should you find that you would care to have one created to your specifications please send an e-mail to us.
